The EU was the destination for 34.7% of Malawi's exports in 2014, down from 45.5% in 2008. Belgium, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Germany are the most important European trading partners. More than 9% of exports are destined for Asia (mostly China), while less than 8% of Malawi's exports are for the Americas.

Morocco's currency is the dirham, which has been indexed to a currency basket consisting of the euro and the US dollar (60% and 40%, respectively since 13 April 2015, compared to 80% and 20% previously). The country's central bank, Bank Al Maghrib (BAM, Section 4.11), is responsible for monetary policy.

Notably, Tax Revenue recorded a positive variance of 4.9%, whilst Non-tax Revenue underperformed by 24.1%. Preliminary receipts for November 2017 indicate tax collections of US$335.4 million, against a target of US$269.8 million, reflecting a positive performance of US$65.5 million, or 24% of projected revenue.

China's main exports were machinery products and equipment, textile and apparel as well as metals and metal products. The main importers of Chinese products were EU, USA, Hong Kong China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. China's main imports were machinery products, mineral fuel, oils and ores.
